This was perfect for what I needed. I purchased this to use as a sort of baby monitor for my toddler when it was time for the crib to go and hopping out of bed became an option. It connects to the Ring app so you can watch from wherever you are, and it notifies you when there is movement. You can close the cover to turn it off and just open it up to start it back up again, so I never feel weird about it being there when it's not needed. You don't have to just trust that it's off and no one can watch. (Maybe that's a me thing, but it gives me peace of mind.) Another nice feature is the ability to share with other Ring users. It's great for me because when I'm at work, I can peek in at the aforementioned toddler periodically, and so can whoever's home if they want to check or if there is movement. You can also see when someone else has viewed it live. I've heard a lot about peoples' baby monitors getting hacked, and this just seems like a safer option and is cheaper than the video monitors that actually are secure. You can also talk through it if you want.

The only reason I felt the need for a couple of cameras was that I unfortunately find myself as my partners caregiver 24/7. She spends the day in her comfy chair to watch her shows, and of course in her bed at nite. So, since I often have a million other things to do, I put a camera in each of those locations, paired with a Echo Show 8 in my room/office so she is never out of my sight. I originally bought 2 "blink" mini's, but was not at all happy with them. The quality during the day was ok, but the night vision was terrible, and constant buffering. The feed would never last more than 10 to 90 seconds. So I switched to the two "Ring" cameras, and well, problem solved (!) 1080p is sharp and clear both day and night, plus the built in color option for the infrared. Very happy with the feed lasting 5.5 mins. ( All that the Echo Show is capable of ) Could be longer on a different type of system. Since I already have the wired doorbell, I'm all in on "Ring" !!!

These indoor cameras have been a great addition to our home. We got them to replace another brand, and due to the Black Friday sale, got them cheaper than our other off brand cameras.
The set up was extremely easy. We didn’t mount them, so that made our set up pretty fast. The app was easy to understand and navigates you through the process.
The picture quality is amazing. We had another brand for years, so I didn’t know that we could have such a great picture quality. We can see everything in each room very clearly, even when you zoom in. You can view rooms live and listen in and speak to whoever is in the room through the app. We also take advantage of motion detection, having the cameras set to record motion in each room. Overall, this was such a great buy. I can’t wait to add more ring cameras to our home security system.

I have set up various Ring Devices in my home. . It connected quickly to the network and had no issues whatsoever with use, clarity, and sharing access to the cameras with other family members. The signal strength has been very good to excellent. This camera totally exceeded my expectations. I am super pleased with it. This works perfectly in our living room. It has a wide field of vision that is deep enough to include all of our target area.We always worried about unexpected visitors! Now I get warnings and video on who/what is going in/out. The color night vision and lower light features are better then Gen1 and the added privacy shutter is nice as well. I would definitely recommend it.
